Dr. Francesca Galbiati joined us for an engaging conversation about career development, work-life balance, and her journey to discovering a passion for neuroscience research. Dr. Andre B. Toussaint is a behavioral neuroscience researcher and educator whose work has focused on addiction, pain, stress, and neurodevelopment. He earned his PhD in Psychology (Neuroscience) from Temple University, studying how paternal opioid exposure influences addiction-related behaviors across generations, and completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University Zuckerman Institute and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. His research has examined pain sensitivity, prenatal stress, cannabis exposure, and child neurodevelopment, supported by competitive fellowships and awards. A passionate mentor and educator, Dr. Toussaint has also worked as a substance use counselor and trainer for future addiction treatment professionals. In Fall 2026, he will begin teaching IB Psychology at a New York City charter high school while continuing his commitment to research, education, and student mentorship.
